Hi techies..

I have setup a website where it sells a certain fitness/health product.
I noticed that it is not gaining any traffic and so its the reason
why the website is poorly selling that prroduct. Any suggestions so
that I can increase the traffic and would convert to sales.

thanx,

You are right man, traffic is the lifeblood of any online business and survival of any business without it is just NOT possible. That's why it has always been and probably will always be the is CRITICAL & most COMMON problem for every newbie.

Well, I think the very first step towards traffic generation is to "assure that your site is welcoming and pleasing" so that the user didn't click the "X" within 3 sec ;-). (And for that you've to see from the visitor's eye...)

After that, there are various techinques to market your site and draw "targetted traffic" to your site. For that there is SEO (as seoph mentioned)... its effective but pretty much expensive... Some other ways which are effective yet FREE are "article marketing" and "forum marketing". Let me admit that these two ways REALLY WORK but slowly.

This way you can get TARGETTED Traffic and Turns those clicks into sales..

I hope it helps and your site get both.. Cool

Basically, my experience is that you need to make an action plan.  Define your demographic.  Then target what they do as far as activities, internet browsing wise, lifestyle, etc.  there is no point to marketing if you are not reaching any consumers.  Also, what is it that sets you apart from other websites in your genre?
