Whats the difference between JavaScript and PHP? Is php just used for forms and database connections? I recently found out that php is an apache based scripting and asp is microsoft server scripting, which one is better? What are the real differences between the two?

Well javascript is ran in the browser, php is processed on the server. Picture php as a scripting language that you can use to make database requests. Javascript is a scripting language ment to alter webpages after they have already loaded up.

PHP is able to run on windows and unix/linux systems. I find php much more powerfull than any other language.
