The dollars what is a dollar? I don't know but I have found that reducing the amount of dollars spent on expenses is a painfull task. I read all kinds of sites that show you all these great ways of saving extra money. The only problem is looking to cut costs on everything that you buy is just about useless.
I went through all my monthly expenses and found that, I might be able to skip $20 here and there from a bill or two. Lowering Auto insurance coverage, reducing the cable TV package, cutting down on trash pickups, putting plastic over the windows, reducing phone service plan.
I found that trying to cut any of these expenses really isn't worth the time. I found that if I try to skimp all these expenses as low as I possibly can, well I would only save mabe $80 per month.  Plus the time it takes to call each company and change the service. Well by the time I got finished going through all of the bills looking for savings, I realized that the $80 per month I would be saving, by skimping is the most important $80 being spent. It seperates minimum services with premium services. By saving $80 per month, I would open myself up to chewing up my Nationwide minutes, I would have TV service that I don't watch, trash sitting here for 2 weeks at a time, barely enough insurance coverage to call it coverage, and I would have an extra $80 per month that will just get spent anyways.
So from a saving perspecitive I don't find it useful to skimp, you aren't saving any money by skimping. If saving $80 per month is important to you, than its time to discontinue service all together.
I think the only way that I learned is that extra savings, should be generated by making extra money. If you want to save an extra $80 per month go  work a few extra hrs in the month.
